HORSEMANSHIP is our main aim is to work in a way that gives horse owners practical and affordable help and knowledge to maintain a good relationship, build from a solid foundation with youngsters or solve any ongoing issues they may have.
Working in a way that helps the horse get the best possible experience and without force or violence in any way means that they become very willing and confident, whether it be handling, leading or loading, ridden problems, untouched horses, raw starters or major behavioural issues, the results speak for themselves and within a very short space of time you find your horse responding very positively. In some extreme cases we have been the very last hope before owners sell up or even worse!
We specialise in Confidence issues for owners or riders who may have lost their way sometimes for no reason whatsoever, for others, a nasty fall or bad experience has left them shattered.
We work with you to ensure that you can continue working on your own after we have left. We can work with you here at our yard or at your own place. We don't always deal with problem horses either, giving your youngster the best start in life and to their ridden career can mean they handle difficult situations better as they get older. Even just wanting to better the understanding you have of your equine can build confidence and harmony between your horse and yourself.

STARTING HORSES
Our methods of starting youngsters look to gain the horses cooperation and trust as a foundation for all aspects of ridden work. Using only non violent methods and working at the horses own pace, we are able to develop a willing and responsive riding horse with a good working attitude and a superb understanding of what is required as our ridden partner. This enables us to be efficient and successful with all manner of youngsters. The length of stay varies depending on previous experience/education and natural character, typically from 90 days dependent on what level of your horses education you feel ready to continue with. Youngsters are welcome to stay for further schooling.
REMEDIAL HORSES
A speciality of ours! Horses develop remedial issues for many reasons, if it isn’t pain and we really ask that you ensure it isn’t before they come we have various methods and techniques that we use to work with your horse to stop unwanted behaviours and ensure they are safe. Whatever the problem, groundwork or ridden, we can help. Some remedial issues include Spooking, Clipper Phobia, Leading, Manners, Mounting, Biting, Hacking Issues, Foot Handling, Bucking, pretty much everything, if its a problem for you, we can help you out. Ask for details.
HORSE/RIDER CONFIDENCE
Horses and riders/owners loose confidence for all sorts of reasons, it isn't always a nasty fall or bad experience that creates a confidence issue, sometimes you have never been confident or because of bad advice or inexperience things go wrong, the top and bottom of it is it doesn't matter why your confidence is lacking, you need help! We can certainly help you, working in a logical and understanding way, with empathy and reason, we can help you rebuild your confidence (or your horses) and get you back on track and enjoying your time with your horse.
